YTL 21st CCLC
Afterschool Program

IMG_0323.JPG

YTL’s afterschool program, summer program, and advocacy efforts are all designed to address the needs of underserved groups, including scholars of color, scholars from economically disadvantaged families, and scholars living in challenging circumstances, e.g., homelessness.

Thus, YTL’s services and activities cater to the unique needs of these groups, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. A profile of scholars served by YTL suggests scholars are often academically, socially, and/or emotionally in need of support, which YTL can provide: (1) 60% of all participants are residents of public or low-income housing; (2) 92% are children of color (Black and Hispanic); (3) many scholars qualify for free and reduced lunch rates as presented in the list of schools below; (4) the median income for parents is $24,000 a year; and (5) those scholars needing transportation from the school to the YTL program site are provided this service.
