G.R.A.C.E for Teens Afterschool is designed specifically to serve teens ages 12-18, grades 6th through 12th grade, who may be a part of families that struggle emotionally, economically and/or academically. Our primary focus is to provide a safe place for our participants to learn and grow through mindfulness, and a community that supports them and their families.

In addition, G.R.A.C.E Afterschool provides academic support daily, focused tutoring twice a week, math club once a week, service learning, creative arts, and weekly extra-curricular activities. Our participants also have access to our Advocacy services. YTL is committed to the success of the youth we serve, and we continually solicit ideas and feedback from the families that we work with. We serve students in the Asheville City Schools (middle and high school) as well as Buncombe County Schools (middle and high school), providing transportation from schools to our afterschool site.

(Redeveloping Our Self-Esteem for Success) (Motivating Ourselves to Soar to Success).   Participants are identified from the existing girls' groups, boys' groups, and parent, teacher, and counselor referrals. Facilitators of our girls' and boys' groups to introduce these summer camp options and get recommendations. Facilitators visit families individually to engage them in personal goal planning. During summer programming participants learn to practice mindfulness for themselves, participate in mindful academic tutoring, and participate in team and self-esteem building. Participants work with artists in residence to explore self-love and self-expression.
